Even primitive species such as the Orismer appreciate history. Records of the ancient Orismer race have been gathered and put into this massive archive. Any wishing to fill their heads with knowledge may seek out this archive.
Orcish Roots?
Yes, Orismer can trace their heritage way back to ancient Orcish peoples. The Orcs are a mysterious people. Not much is known about them today except that they were as brutally powerful as the Orismer and as magical as the most powerful wizards. Many places on Orisnium, most notably the arena, were enchanted by the ancient Orcish peoples; Enchantments that still remain as powerful today.
How Orismer lost their magical powers is unknown. The ancient Orcs were some of the most revered people in the Galaxy. The fact that they evolved into a much more primitive species baffles all historians. Orc ruins that remain on the planet show that the Orcs were of the highest class. They built grand structures that towered over the planet. For more on Orcish ruins see: "The Fallen Ruins of Orisnium"
The Fallen Ruins of Orismer
It's easy to spot an Orcish ruin. Just find the places with the weirdest names, odds are those are all Orcish ruins. The ancient Orcs named their buildings using their own language. The only government building on Orisnium, Arkingthand, is one such building that started life as an Orcish ruin. Arkingthand was rebuilt by modern day Orismer (albeit badly) and is still enchanted to some degree.
Perhaps the most well preserved Orcish ruin is the fabled Arena. The Arena is still as enchanted as it was the day it was made. The magics working behind the walls of the arena are incredibly mysterious.
Unfortunately apart from the arena no other Orcish ruin remains fully intact. Arkingthand had to be rebuilt before it was habitable again, and the numerous other ruins on Orisnium have been destroyed. The only preserved ruins on Orisnium are the ones that were built far underground. Only a few of these have been plundered, and that is how Orismer know of their heritage. Many more of these ruins are buried far beneath the planet's surface, perhaps going so far as the core. It is not likely the ones farthest to the center of the planet will be plundered anytime soon.
