Transport Outside Cepheid

Passage outside Cepheid is considerably more expensive than passage within Cepheid. Buying passage costs 100 credits and it takes 20 posts to reach your destination. All posts must be in this thread to count.

Ookean boarded the ship with ease. The little money in her pocket was what it took, but so what? It would be worth it, plus, she could always make more in the long run. She was sure that cash wouldn't be the problem, it would more than likely be finding a guide, or befriending someone. She wasn't sure on how the other species of the world would take to her kind, so she wasn't sure how they would treat her. She sat in her seat and they called for last boarding and then off they went to an unknow, to her, planet.

Ookean looked around. There wasn't many people on this flight. She wondered why. She wasn't even sure where she was going. It was a little scary, and the shuttle kept creaking and she was almost afraid that the shuttle was going to break apart, but how could that happen? She was sure they would not let any one on the shuttle if it wasn't safe.

This was her first trip, her first time being off of Acqua, and even though certain events led to this day, and even though she was on a ship that sounded like it was going to fall apart, she was happy. Scared, but happy. She didn't know where she was going, but it didn't matter to her, she was just happy to be leaving.

Ookean looked to the woman infront of her. She slightly stuck her head out so that the woman would notice her. "Vabandage, oh, Excuse me, sorry." She spoke quietly. The woman looked over to her and smiled. "Can you tell me where this ship is taking us?" The woman smiled again and nodded. "Earth, my dear girl." Ookean gave her a nod of thanks and then leaned back in her seat.

She breathed in and looked over to the man beside her. "Earth," was all she said, and her smile was wide. "Have you ever been to Earth?" She looked back over to him and shook her head. "I've never left Acqua let alone go any where else." She let out a soft laugh at the suprise on the mans face.

The man tilted his head gently to the side and looked at her tattoos. "So, how are you liking the shuttle ride then?" He asked, surveying the markings on her face. She slightly turned her head. She felt uncomfortable, but she didn't want to be rude. "You mean beside the creaking noises, it's alright, I mean, I don't really know what to expect." Her voice was a little shaky with nervousness. She wasn't used to someone staring at her.

She figured that he knew that she was upset by his staring when he looked away from her. "Oh, don't worry about this old thing. She may be ancient, but she is one of the safest out there." Ookean smiled at that. She wasn't sure why, but his comment about the ship just make her smile. "I can't really complain, I mean, it's an interesting experience." Her voice was no longer shaky, now she felt comfortable.

Her ship mate was silent for a few moments afterwards. He looked as though he was thinking about something. She didn't mind the silence, though the chatter took her mind away from the ship crashing and falling apart. As she thought that he turned his head. His brow was raised to her in questioning. "What language was that that you spoke to the woman in?" She looked up at him and met his eyes. "It's the ancient tongue of the Acqualish.

Ookean wondered why this man had asked. She knew that it was a rare language to hear, though most did not even know it existed. "I have just never heard someone speak like that before." He smiled and she smiled back. "It died about a hundred years ago when others started to visit our planet. My village kept it's tradition going." She nodded as she spoke as if to show him that it was the truth.

The man looked startled. "A hundred years ago? Were you alive then?" Ookean laughed. "I was yes, in fact, I have been living for just over 250 years now." The man's mouth dropped as if he had never heard of such things. He was an older man so she figured that he thought that she was just a young adult. She did only look in her very early twenties, according to how humans aged.

He went on to ask her about the aging system and she pretty much just told him that the Aqualish barely age at all once they hit a certain size and what not. He was very intruiged and he looked surprised. "Did you not just come from Acqua? Were we not in the same place? How is it that you do not know this?" His face blushed a bit, not with frustration but with embarrassment. "Well actually, I went to find a bride."

Ookean's eyes widened. "A bride? Why would you travel all that way for a wife?" She asked and his cheek blushed a brighter pink. "I, well, I don't know. The Aqualish are so dainty and beautiful and well, I heard they were great wives." She tilted her head and looked around. "Well then, where is she?"

The man stuttered as he spoke. He had only been there for one day and couldn't get up the nerve to speak to anyone. The guy was kindof a loner on Earth and he had no one to love, or that loved him there. The idea saddened Ookean. What would happen if she were to end up like that? Both her parents were dead and she had no children, no husband, nothing like that. She did not want to be alone, but for some reason, she figured she would be.

It wasn't as though she would never find a man. She just doubted that she would find a man that would want to travel the galaxy with her. She looked to the man. "That is a sad thing, but alas, I fear the same future." Her face was sad but she placed a smile on it instead. "But in all truthfulness, we are never really alone, because when we are lonely, there are a lot of other lonely people in the world. So we are in that together, right?"
